Class Information

Joy Arabella Studio works out of home and does not have a public studio. We love to bring our classes to other spaces to meet new people in new areas as well as help bring businesses new customers. Our ideal locations to come to are places that serve food and drinks for our guest. If food and drink is not being served at an event, we encourage guest to bring their own drink and snacks to enjoy while creating master pieces! For Glaze and Sip classes, guest can choose ONE main glaze color and ONE accent glaze color.

Glaze and Sip Class FAQ-

What is Glaze?

Ceramic glaze is basically the glassy coating that is on ceramics. It is mainly used to seal the piece as well as add a decor aspect to it. Before its fired, its a chalky like paint that you apply to the piece that is made up of different minerals and materials.

Where can I take a class?

I often do classes at different locations at least once a month. Check my events tab to see where I will be next! :)

How long is the class?

The classes are about 2 hours long. It shouldn’t take you the entire two hours to complete a piece, but I like to give plenty of time for creativity and socializing.

Is there an age limit to the class?

Since glazes can be tricky to work with and shouldn’t be ingested (even though I use non toxic glazes) I like to require that the guest be at least 15 years old. Since my classes are often advertised at bars or as BYOB, please be advised that if your child is under the age of 21, they might be around some drinking. (And of course I will not allow underaged drinking lol)

When will I get my piece back?

You should get it back within the week, usually where the class was originally or at a nearby coffee shop.

Have any other questions! Feel free to reach out :)

Glaze Class Guest Examples

I work with “professional” glazes that are different from your average pottery painting classes. The glazes I provide have a beautiful finish that create unique effects when layered with other glazes. The clay I use to create my pieces is a speckled brownstone that has a wet sand look when fully fired. (See guest examples above) These glazes ensure that everyone ends up with a unique piece that is food safe as well as dishwasher and microwave safe. I hand make everything on a pottery wheel and pre fire them a kiln to 1900 degrees. After the class, I will do a final firing of the pieces to 2200 degrees!

HOW IT WORKS

Book a class at your business, community center, home, etc.! If you are hosting, all you need is to have a water source. (A great way to bring in customers and as well as create a win win situation for both businesses! ) Reach out if you would like some venue recommendations!

Since all ceramic pieces are handmade, I ask that you book at least 2-4 weeks in advanced. The cost for the glaze and sip events is per person and the tickets will be sold on my website.

Each class is two hours long, providing plenty of time for guest to create and socialize.

Pick up for the ceramic pieces will be a week later at the original event location or shipping options are available (for a fee) .

For paint and sip classes, you may choose from the paintings I have or I will come up with a design for your party.

Materials provided including aprons. I have two tables as well if needed.

Great for public events, private events, team building, parties, etc!
